After 48 years of experience in training leaders at the post-secondary level, Bunia Theological College and Semionary (ISTB) finally decided to become a Christian university called Shalom University of Bunia with five faculties: Evangelical Theology, Development Science and Methods, Management of the Environment, Administration and Management of Organizations and Fishing, Water and Forestry.

This change is the fruit of considerable experience in theological training. Graduates are used in various fields such as the pastorate, secondary and higher education, development, politics, etc

The use of our graduates in non-pastoral service is proof that society has discovered what we cherish most: spiritual excellence must absolutely go together with academic excellence.

In other words, it seems to us that the rebuilding of D.R. Congo is only possible if our academic training is built on a solid spiritual and moral foundation in order to produce leaders which have a relationship with God.

Considering the difficult moments that the Congo has traversed, and in particular the area of Ituri, we believe that academic training must be accompanied by a solid spiritual foundation. Our concern is to produce leaders who have a relationship with God the Creator, who will respect and use human resources both material and natural as managers who must answer ultimately to the Supreme Master (God). They must be called first to serve God and the nation and not their personal interests.
